Elizabeth Landau, woman of faith loved by RKA students, dies at 68


Elizabeth Landau, a beloved aide at Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy and a long-time resident of The Whitehall, passed away in her home on Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020. She was 68.

As a longtime aide at the school, she will be remembered for her cheerful spirit in guiding Riverdale’s youth. She was a devout member of Riverdale Presbyterian Church. Her kindness was well known by members of RKA, her church, and the community.

She is survived by her daughter, Shaina Landau, and son-in-law Jose Gonzalez as well as grandson Owen Gonzalez of Chicago. She is reunited in heaven with her loving husband Scott and son, Brandon.

A closed-casket wake is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 18, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Ave. The family asks those with health-related concerns to feel no obligation to attend in person, and instead join them in spirit to honor Elizabeth Landau's memory.
