Family Art Project: Wave Hill’s Jewels

On Saturday, June 27, Wave Hill presents a program to unlock the mysteries of nature’s palette. Learn how different plants and animals use color to survive in the wild. Express yourself by making iridescent wearable art using animal patterned beads of your own creation. The program will take place in the Wave Hill House from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Registration is free with admission to the grounds.

At 11:30 a.m. families can also enjoy a Pride Month-inspired storytime program in the Gund Theater, all ages welcome.

For more information visit Wavehill.org.

Yoga in the Garden

Susie Caramanica is leading a gentle yoga class on the Wave Hill grounds on Sunday, June 28. This is a beginner level class that can be modified. Class is usually held on a lawn space and is accessible via flat paved paths. Tickets cost $25 per person, with a 10 percent discount for Wave Hill members. The hour class will take place from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. To register and for more information visit Wavehill.org.

‘Flower Power’

The New York Botanical Garden, located at 2900 Southern Blvd., invites you to immerse yourself in a groovy and colorful flower show spotlighting the ways in which hippie culture advanced closer relationships with the natural world in the “Flower Power” exhibition. The exhibit runs until Oct. 18, to get tickets visit nybg.org.
