George Gershwin International Music Competition

The George Gershwin International Music Competition will celebrate talented young musicians in 4 categories: piano, voice, string instruments, and winds/brass. Founded and directed by Michael Bulychev-Okser, the Competition will be held in four different locations in NYC and at different times; please visit the website for specifics: www.gershwincompetition.org Rounds go from October 26 to October 31st; Finals from November 2-5, culminating in the Awards Presentation and Concert. Entrants will play not only Gershwin, but Chopin, Mozart, and other great composers before a distinguished panel of judges, including radio's Robert Sherman; Gerrald Robbins, laureate of the Van Cliburn Competition; Richard Glazier, pianist who played for Ira Gershwin and hosted a PBS Series on Gershwin.
