It's a mad dash on a moped

A man was arrested after driving recklessly on Bailey Avenue on Dec. 2 around 9:10 p.m.

The police spotted the driver going at a high speed on a moped and running a red light around the intersection of Bailey Avenue and Albany Crescent.

Police tried to pull the driver over, but the man tried to escape.

The cops managed to box in the driver, who was then arrested for reckless endangerment.

Burglar arrested 

There was a burglary at 157 West Kingsbridge Road on Dec. 10 at 5:50 p.m. According to police, a security guard watched a man enter the building and remove property around that time.

The cops arrived soon after and arrested the perp, who had been linked to two other similar cases in the city.

The police did not say what property was removed or the value of the property. 

Graffiti vandal

A man was arrested for spraying graffiti behind a storefront on the corner of Broadway and Verveelen Place on Dec. 3 around 3 a.m.

According to police, the perp was seen by witnesses spraying the back of a business.

Police arrived at the scene and the man was arrested soon after.

Shoplifter arrested

A man was arrested on Dec. 10 around noon after trying to steal from the Rite Aid located at 5825 Broadway.

According to police, the perp was seen trying to take $94 worth of merchandise without paying.

The police arrived soon after and arrested the thief, charging him with petty larceny.
