Kingsbridge business owner Thomas Stiglianese, 31, was shot to death outside the Royal Regency Hotel on Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers at around midnight on June 21.

According to Yonkers police he was walking toward his car, which was parked in the back lot of the hotel where he had been staying, when he was shot in the back of the head, execution-style.

He was pronounced dead from multiple gun shot wounds when police arrived at the scene.

Mr. Stiglianese owned First Class Towing and Collision on Tibbett Avenue.

John Grisjah, who used to work with Mr. Stiglianese described him as a troubled man.

“He had some drug problems, but he didn’t deserve this,” he said. “He was a young man trying to make a living.”

Mr. Grisjah’s son was business-partners with Mr. Stiglianese.

“We cry for him today,” he said.

Mr. Stiglianese owned an apartment on Fairfield Avenue in Riverdale for several years but apparently no longer lived there. It is unclear why he was staying at the hotel.

Mr. Stiglianese was convicted of possession of cocaine with intent to sell in 2002. He was arrested in Manhattan in August of that year and served six months at a military-style boot camp program, according to Linda Foglia, a spokeswoman for the New York State Department of Correctional Services.
