Kingsbridge teen stabbed and assaulted on University Avenue

A 16-year-old Kingsbridge boy was stabbed in the back several times while walking at the corner of University Avenue and West 197 Street on Monday, Oct. 2.

Police say around 11:30 a.m. two unknown males approached the victim from behind when one of them took out a knife and stabbed him in the lower back.

The two attackers fled northbound on University Avenue and the victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/North Central Bronx in stable condition.

Both attackers were caught on surveillance footage and are estimated to be between the ages of 14 and 16. One is described as a boy with dark complexion, last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark book bag, black pants, white sneakers and a black hat.

The other teen is described as a boy with dark complexion, last seen wearing black pants, black sneakers and a black hooded sweatshirt.
