Man arrested for suspended license in Marble Hill


A man was arrested and charged for driving with a suspended license in Marble Hill, according to police.

Arinson Parra Alvarez, 33, of the Bronx, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operator and motor vehicle license violation.

Police say that last Thursday around 4:30 p.m. they observed a black moped with no plates attached operating on a public roadway in the vicinity of Marble Hill Avenue and West 225 Street.

Upon further investigation, they learned that Parra Alvarez had a suspended license and he was taken into custody, police said.

Man arrested for

Police arrested a man last Thursday who they say had a suspended license and prevented officers from doing their duties.

Eliseo Veras, 18, of the Bronx, was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property, obstructing governmental administration, motorcycle helmet violation and motor vehicle violation.

According to police, around 5:20 p.m. Veras was operating a moped recklessly opposite of 69 West 225 St. He had no helmet or license plate attached to his moped and was unable to provide documentation for the vehicle, police said.

Police say Veras then got back onto the vehicle in an effort to prevent officers from performing their duties.

Police from the 50th Precinct brought Veras back to the station house where it was discovered that the moped was stolen, they said.

Car broken into in Kingsbridge

A woman’s car was broken into and robbed in front of a Kingsbridge apartment building earlier this month, according to police.

A 45-year-old woman reported to police that sometime between Feb. 5 at about 4:30 p.m. and Feb. 6 at around 6:30 a.m., an unknown person broke into her car in front of 3816 Review Place.

The unknown individual broke through the driver side window of the victim’s 2023 Hyundai Sedan, then stole a camera and phone charger that was inside, the witness told police. The crime was labeled petit larceny and there have yet to be any arrests.

An unknown person attempted to steal a car in front of 130 Gale Place in Kingsbridge Heights before a witness made them run off, according to police.

A 53-year-old woman reported to police that on Feb. 3 at around 4:30 a.m., an unknown person broke the back window of her 2012 Honda Sedan, then entered her vehicle. The individual removed a bag, mail and documents from the vehicle, according to police. When a witness approached the vehicle, it caused the individual to flee the scene.

The report marked the crime as attempted grand larceny auto. There have yet to be any arrests and the 50th Precinct is investigating the crime.

Assault threat at nursing home

A woman threatened to assault another woman at a nursing center in Spuyten Duyvil on Feb. 6, according to police.

Police responded to a 911 call for harassment inside of Schervier Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at 2975 Independence Ave. at around 11 p.m. When they arrived, a 28-year-old woman told police that she had a verbal dispute with a 35-year-old woman who apparently threatened to assault her, causing her to fear for her safety.

There were no weapons displayed or injuries reported, according to police.
