Elizabeth Ann Creaney (nee Bergin) passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021.

She was born in New York City, grew up in Ballyhaise, Co Cavan, Ireland, before returning to her beloved Bronx. She was preceded in death by her cherished son Noel and beloved brother John.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Anthony; her loving children Patrick (Alison) and Kathleen (Kevin), treasured grandchildren Patrick, Shana, Gineann, Nicholas and Regina, and precious great-grandchildren Ewan and Emmett.

As well as being a dedicated sister-in-law and cousin, she was an amazing “Auntie Ann” to many nieces and nephews.

She spent almost 20 years as a docent and volunteer at the New York Botanical Garden until she passed. She was an avid dancer, and supported all things Irish as a member of the Lady’s Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Gaelic league, and numerous other organizations.

She was a world traveler and always on the lookout for a new adventure. Her many hobbies included skiing, water skiing, ice skating and tennis. There was nothing she enjoyed more than a picnic with a view of the Hudson River.

A viewing was held Dec. 17 at Riverdale-on-the-Hudson Funeral Home. Mass and burial were held Dec. 18 at the Woolworth Chapel at Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the New York Botanical Garden.
