NYCHA announces new PACT projects

Posted

The New York City Housing Authority looks to repair and preserve more than 5,900 units in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan.

NYCHA is seeking what’s known as a request for expressions of interest to partner with the city agency through its Permanent Affordability Commitment Together — or PACT — program.

The request is the first step in helping NYCHA drum up the funds needed to fix properties in dire need of repair. Those fixes could include both common places such as building vestibules — where repairs can include new electronic locks for the building’s door and security system — and individual apartment units, which may need new bathrooms, kitchens, or other kinds of repairs.

NYCHA, of course, will still own the land and buildings, in addition to monitoring conditions at all of its properties.
