On the Road to Somewhere

Posted

On the tree-shrubbed streets of
Westchester,

in the many small towns abound in
wilderness

 I have travelled afar

through the upstate towns of Portchester,

 Rye, White Plains

you name it

chances are, I’ve been there

yet often I travel alone

on this perilous journey,

on the road to nowhere

or, so it seems to the many

I encounter upon it

this may be a metaphor

for a life-journey

I must encounter on my own

peace & tranquility

abounds out here

yet there’s a danger that awaits

I must be ready

and, like the Lonesome Traveler I am

like the name of the Kerouac novel,

 I must continue this journey

 upon the hard road

 ahead

 until alas,

 I can find myself

 a partner

 to share upon my journey

of many a misadventure!
