Police: Man slashed in neck on Sedgwick Avenue

Police reported they are asking for the public’s help in identifying an unknown person wanted in connection with an assault that happened on Sept. 21 around 8:43 a.m. in front of 2710 Sedgwick Ave., which is an apartment building.

According to authorities, an unknown person approached a 60-year-old man from behind and struck him in the back of the head with a blunt object, before slashing him in the neck with a sharp object.

First responders took the 60-year-old man to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
