State Sen. Gustavo Rivera said in a Nov. 2 statement he received his annual flu vaccination a week prior, underscoring the importance of protecting the health of communities, according to Rivera.
Dr. Douglas York, president and CEO of Union Community Health Center, where Rivera received his flu shot, highlighted the importance of vaccination in protecting vulnerable members of the community, and reducing the risk of illness, according to the statement.
“With flu activity increasing earlier than expected, getting vaccinated is an important step we can all take to protect ourselves and the people around us,” Rivera said.
