Service academy applications deadline Nov. 18

Posted

U.S. Rep Adriano Espaillat will again accept congressional applications for district high school seniors to U.S. service academies.

However, members of congress can only nominate students with an appointment to four or five academies: Military (Army), Naval, Air Force, Merchant, Marine and Coast Guard.

Last year, Espaillat was proud to have nominated several students from his district, which covers most of Manhattan and parts of the west Bronx — Kingsbridge, Kingsbridge Heights, and Marble Hill.

According to last year’s census, more than 38,000 teenagers live in his district.

“They are the next generation of military leaders, and I am proud to have played a role in helping these young talented individuals attend our nation’s prestigious service academies,” Espaillat said, in a release.

The deadline for 2022-23 applications is Friday, Nov. 18.

To sign up, fill out the form found on Espaillat.house.gov under “services”
