Dennis Hanley, longtime resident, church usher, 86
Dennis Leo Hanley Sr. died while spending the winter in Florida on March 17, 2024.
He was 86.
He resided in Riverdale for years, and was an usher at St. Margaret of Cortona Church for many years at the Saturday 5:15 p.m. Mass.
He was one of 12 children, the son of Margaret (Sullivan) and Martin Hanley, and loving husband of Peggy (Hogan).
He was the proud father of Margaret, Dennis, daughter-in-law Jennifer, Brian, and daughter-in-law Sharon.
He was grateful grandfather of Jennifer, Finola, Dennis III, Brenda, Megan, Lily, Frank and Seamus.
He is survived by his brother Eugene, sister-in-law Rose, brother Edward, sister-in-law Patricia, sister Josephine, brother-in-law Christopher, and sisters Catherine, Bridget and Patricia.
His brother Martin and sisters Hannah, Anne, Margaret and Mary all died before him.
Many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews also survive him. He was blessed with a very large and close extended family.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held April 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret of Cortona-St Gabriel Church, 6000 Riverdale Ave.
