Evers’ part in rapid response group formation

I wanted to thank Olivia Young for her recent article on the 81st Assembly District primary, which provided the context for a lesser-known fact about Morgan Evers.

Olivia noted that Ms. Evers “is also concerned with aggressive measures by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”  What people might not know is that she actually did something about her concern.

She is perhaps the person most responsible for our having a functioning rapid response group here. Back in November of 2025, way before Minnesota popularized ICE watch, and despite a series of logistical challenges, Morgan organized an event at Riverdale Temple. She introduced the need for a coordinated community response to federal immigration excesses, invited an activist to explain rapid response, and offered the opportunity to begin recruiting for and building a local network.
