Finance major Joshua Quinde of greater Riverdale, who is a junior at Coastal Carolina University, was named to the school’s dean’s list for the Spring semester.  He maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Quinde was a member of the Student Executive Leaders program, the National Honor Society of Leadership Success, and the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity Mu Beta chapter.

He has spent the past few months as an internal audit intern at BNY Mellon, the largest custodial bank.

Coastal University is a public comprehensive liberal arts institution in South Carolina located minutes away from the Myrtle Beach resort area with more than 10,000 students from across the globe. It offers baccalaureate degrees in more than 100 major fields of study, with its graduate-level programs offering 27 masters, educational specialists, and doctorates in education and marine system science.

The institution boasts various internships, research, and international opportunities for students, online programs, and its nationally competitive NCAA I athletic program.

Jonathan Solomon of greater Riverdale graduated with 3,383 graduates from the University of Vermont at the school’s 222nd commencement. He earned a bachelor’s in wildlife and fisheries biology, which explores the interaction among fish, the environment, and humans.

College president Suresh Garimella conferred upon the graduating class their degrees. Meanwhile, Sethuraman Panchanathan, a computer science engineer appointed by President Donald Trump as the 15th director of the U.S. National Science Foundation, delivered the keynote address.

This graduation was exceptional for Garimella as his tenure as president began in the fall of 2019 as the class of 2023 began during their first year.
