To the editor,
Inspired by his ridiculous and destructive tariff war with Canada, President Donald Trump has proclaimed that Lake Ontario will now be known as Lake America. The likelihood of any other country changing the name is zero, and the likelihood of anyone remembering Trump’s edict after he leaves the White House is also zero. Meanwhile, how much of taxpayers’ money will the United States Department of the Interior spend to change the name of that lake on all the documents and maps on which it appears?
