To the editor,
The primary election in New York state, especially New York City, was a massive win for democratic socialists and a big rejection of centrist and conservative corporate democrats locally and nationally. Voters said no more to AIPAC, Democratic Majority 4 Israel, corporate pacs, crypto, and the real estate lobby, all of whom have backed Rep. Espaillat and Dan Goldman. Gone. Ritchie Torres is hopefully next out with a strong challenge from socialist Andre Easton. Welcome Darializa Avila Chevalier to the Bronx, as our likely new congressional representative come November! Voters demand affordability, a rent freeze — thank you Mayor Mamdani — and an end to gentrification. We need national healthcare, food security and a living wage for all as we end funding to Israel, endless war, genocide and ICE.
