Photographer Alan Zale is featured in exhibition

Yonkers resident Alan Zale's photograph "Angel Fish" will be on display at the Summer Photography Exhibition at the Somers Custom Framing Art Gallery, in Somers, N.Y., through Wednesday, Aug. 1.

Mr. Zale was The Riverdale Press' first photography editor, helping in many ways to shape the photo department into what it is today.

He is now a member of The New York Times' stable of freelance photographers, however, his work still appears in The Press from time to time.

Mr. Zale snapped the featured photo while he was scuba diving this past February on Bari Reef, on the Island of Bonaire. It was the first time Mr. Zale used a digital camera underwater.

"Using a housed digital camera gave me the opportunity to have a lot more creative control than I ever had before," said Mr. Zale.

The gallery, located at 253 Route 202 in Somers, is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For further information, call 914-276-3173.
