To the editor,
As election season rolls around, we should be careful to fully appreciate what we have. Many will speak well of Congressman Torres for his support of their issue, whatever that may be, but what’s more remarkable about Ritchie, as everyone calls him, is his concern for all his constituents. From working to clean up The Hub and its open-air drug markets, to protecting bodega owners, trying to find ways for families to be able to save and achieve home ownership, or taking on Con Ed’s overcharging of Bronx residents, Ritchie conscientiously seeks to serve all his constituents.
In our divided times, we should be careful to support someone who is trying to bring us all closer together, by meeting as many of our needs as possible. Instead of turning to a candidate who says what we want to hear, and ignores those others out there who, to many candidates, don’t count.
