Samuel J. Chasky, 74, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, while residing at Atria Riverdale.

He grew up in Canarsie, Brooklyn, attended Baruch College, and raised his family with his wife, Felice, in Rockland County.

He was a hard worker as an accountant, always finishing any project he started. He loved playing golf, whitewater rafting, reading books, and reading the Sunday New York Times.

He loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, Abbey, Charles and Samantha.

He will be missed dearly by his daughter, Jessica (Chasky) Kempkes; her husband, Ed Kempkes; Ed’s mother, Joanne Kempkes; his daughter, Michelle (Chasky) Weed; and her husband, Baxter Weed.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife, Felice (Trzebucki) Chasky; his mother, Marcia (Kaplan) Chasky; and father, Hyman Chasky.

He and Felice loved going out to dinner with friends, dancing, going to the movies and traveling.

He always booked a beach vacation with Felice right after tax season.

They were in a bowling league in their younger years and also enjoyed playing doubles tennis with friends. He loved amusement parks and always begged his kids to go on roller coaster rides and the log flume.

He was a good man with integrity whose mission in life was to provide for and protect his family.

Michelle and Jessica want to specifically thank Tiffany and Jessica, who work at the Atria on the fourth floor, for their compassion and special care they put into making sure he felt loved and supported.
