There is a time for every teenager before they apply to a college when there is hesitation — which is normal. College can be expensive and a big career decision. But not all students choose college.

That is what career day is for.

IN-Tech Academy hosted its career day Wednesday and provided students access to various speakers across different industries.

Speakers shared their journeys and obstacles they overcame in their careers and explained the importance of education and professional skills in the workplace.

IN-Tech serves grades 6 through 12, with a student population totaling roughly 1,000 students in the 2021-22 school year. According to a public school review, that number increased in the 2022-23 school year.

It offers computer-networking programs for high school students, such as repair, networking principles, career preparation, and certificates. It also offers clubs and various varsity sports, including softball and soccer.

After-school programs include video production, martial arts, restorative justice, e-sports, baseball, debate and Riverdale Neighborhood House Theater.

The school’s overall mission is to tailor its schools to build strong learning habits and focus on literacy, technology and core content.
