North Riverdale hit with larceny attempt

Police received a report of an attempted grand larceny opposite 6455 Broadway Wednesday, Jan. 18 sometime after 11:30 p.m.

The 25-year-old victim told officers she found her 2015 Hyundai Accent damaged Thursday morning after parking it overnight on Broadway next to Van Cortlandt Park.

Officers stated the car’s rear passenger door glass was broken and the steering column was damaged.

There is no video surveillance of the area.

Kia sedan stolen
on Irwin Avenue

The owner of a 2021 silver Kia sedan reported to police her car was stolen sometime between Thursday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m. — when she parked it in near the 3400 block of Irwin Avenue — and the following day on Friday, Jan. 20, when she returned to find the vehicle had been removed.

Police are looking for the vehicle, they said.

The investigation is ongoing.
