1. Jasper stabbed on subway
A Manhattan College student was stabbed at around 3 a.m. on Dec. 11 at the 238th Street Station, during an attempted robbery on a northbound No. 1 train.
According to a student security advisory e-mailed to students on Dec. 11, the victim said he fell asleep on the train and awoke to a man dressed in black, displaying a knife. The man attempted to steal the victim’s cell phone and “the victim sustained a non life threatening [sic] puncture wound,” according to the advisory.
The student reported the stabbing at around 2 p.m., according to the advisory.
“He’s doing well, preparing for finals,” a spokesperson for Manhattan College said on Monday.
2. Woman assaulted
A 21-year-old woman told police at around 10 p.m. on Dec. 8, she was attacked during a domestic dispute, at 3044 Albany Crescent.
The victim told police that during an altercation, a man punched her in the face, causing a bruise to her left eye; bit her forehead, causing a laceration; and strangled her, causing bruising on her neck.
The victim, who had scratches on her back, face and neck, grabbed a knife in self-defense, according to police. The suspect attempted to remove the knife and in the struggle that ensued, the victim also sustained lacerations to her palm.
The suspect was arrested and charged with felony assault.
3. Choked for clothes
A 37-year-old man told police that at around 11 p.m. on Dec. 5, he was strangled and robbed, at 2719 Sedgwick Ave.
The victim said two men approached him from behind and choked him, causing him to pass out. When he awoke, a bag full of clothing that he had been carrying was gone, according to police.
Among the missing items were Prada shoes, worth $298, and a black Prada jacket, worth $2,100.
The case remains open.
4. Robbery thwarted
A 31-year-old woman told police that at around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, she escaped an attempted robbery, near the intersection of Albany Crescent and West 231st Street.
The victim told police she was walking home when a man approached and demanded her phone, according to police. When she refused, the man grabbed her arm, but she managed to put her phone in her pocket, free her arm and flee.
The case remains open.
5. Phone, wallet stolen
A 23-year-old man told police that at around 7 p.m. on Dec. 8, he was robbed, near 3240 Netherland Ave.
The victim told police two men approached him from behind and grabbed his arms, holding them behind his back. The victim said he felt an object against his back, but did not see what it was.
The robbers searched the victim’s pockets and removed an iPhone and a wallet containing four credit cards, a driver’s license and $130.
The case remains open.
6. Teen robbed
On Dec. 5, a 13-year-old boy told police that another boy robbed him at around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 23, in front of 231 W. 230th St.
The victim the suspect held his arms behind his back and dislodged a gold chain, worth $400, from his neck. Police arrested the suspect, also 13, and he was charged with robbery in family court.
7. Camera supplies stolen
A 32-year-old man told police that his apartment, at 2860 Bailey Ave., was burgled between 9:50 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 8.
The victim said his mother left the apartment in the morning and when he returned, he discovered that an unknown person had entered through a window and removed property.
Items reported missing included a Pentax camera, five filter accessories, four types of lenses and three rings. The items were valued at $10,848.
There are surveillance cameras in the building and the case remains open.
